COVID-19 Preparations

Fishing Creek Farms is committed to delivering a safe and enjoyable hunting experience to its guests. The COVID-19 pandemic has had a severe and lasting effect on many people’s lives, and we wish to reassure you that Fishing Creek has prepared appropriately for your upcoming trip.

Despite the coronavirus pandemic’s unprecedented effects, protocols have been put in place to ensure you can safely enjoy your hunting adventure at the farm this season. These measures aim to maintain the high standards of lodging, dining, and hunting that guests have come to expect of Fishing Creek while also delivering a safe environment to hunt and unwind.

The specific actions taken at Fishing Creek Farms are as follows:

Arrival

Fishing Creek staff will welcome all guests upon arrival at the farm and administer a temperature check with a digital thermometer. If a guest has a temperature reading of or above 100.4 degrees, they will directed to the nearest COVID -19 testing site for a Rapid Test. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided throughout each guest’s stay at the farm and includes hand sanitizer, gloves, and face coverings. Sanitation stations will also be available in each building at Fishing Creek so that protection is always readily available. We actively encourage all guests to utilize these stations, particularly before and after group meetings and prior to meals and hunts.

All Fishing Creek staff was tested for COVID-19 before arriving at the farm to ensure guests’ and colleagues’ safety. Also, staff health is monitored daily, including temperatures taken each morning.

Accommodation

Single occupancy rooms and the farm’s exclusive use nature means that Fishing Creek Farm is particularly well suited to delivering safe hunting experiences during the current pandemic. Fishing Creek does not mix hunting parties. Nor will parties come in to contact with one another.

Before guests arriving at Fishing Creek, each building will be deep cleaned and sanitized, following industry-leading protocols. Particular care is taken to guarantee high contact areas are sanitized effectively.

These cleaning procedures may result in a slight delay in access to your room following check-in. If this is the case, we apologize and ask for your understanding. Fishing Creek staff will do their best to maintain our regular schedules each day.

During routine service, the Fishing Creek housekeeping staff would attend to guest rooms throughout the day to ensure cleanliness. This service remains available to guests, and staff will wear PPE during the cleaning service. Should you wish staff not to enter your room, please inform the Fishing Creek team at check-in to minimize contact.

Dining

In line with the Fishing Creek principle of exclusivity, groups arriving and departing from the farm will not mix, either in the lodge or during our meal service.

Fishing Creek will provide two dining locations to prevent contact between groups during this change-over period. Staff will wear gloves and face coverings while serving food and beverages indoors and also outdoors, where social distancing is impossible.

Finally, sanitizing stations will be available at each dining location.

Field

Hunting, by its very nature, lends itself to social distancing. Being outdoors also significantly reduces coronavirus transmission risks and provides added safety.

That said, Fishing Creek remains committed to best practices in the field. As such, we have added a few simple procedures to ensure that staff and guests stay safe. These include offering PPE before and during a hunt and sanitizing hunt buggies between groups. Guide staff is also glad to wear face coverings while on the hunt buggies if requested.

Fishing Creek looks forward to welcoming you to the farm after what has been a challenging year for everyone. The team is conscious of the sacrifices people have made and are excited to be entertaining hunt parties at the farm in 2021.

If you have any concerns during your stay, please raise them immediately with a staff member. The safety of guests is Fishing Creek’s top priority.

We look forward to welcoming you!
